Vintage 1970’s Papaya Boutique Mexican Caftan

Description: This is a fantastic piece from Mexico in the late 1960s or early 1970s, in excellent vintage condition. It is from the Papaya Boutique in Tlaquepaque, which was owned by Irene Pulos, one of the great Mexican designers of resort wear during this period, so it is very likely it was made in her atelier. It is embroidered in a geometric pattern with applique cotton bands as well. It is 100% cotton Manta, with a metal zipper up the back. Very chic, and a super representation of Wearable Art made during this iconic period in Mexican history.
