Betancourt “Toro” Cuff

$185.00

Description: A rare vintage cuff attributed to Betancourt from our curated selection of vintage mid century modern Mexican jewelry. The design is from the “Toro” series by Leopoldo and Enrique Betancourt. They worked for Los Castillos in Taxco, Mexico in the 1940s, going on to create their own atelier, as well as designing for Casa Maya. It features a large bull’s head in copper and brass with green enamel consistent with their design of other pieces in the Mayan style from the 1950s. This is a super example of vintage modern Mexican design and wearable art.
