Description: A rare vintage polished brass, copper and enamel cuff by Betancourt, and attributed to Leopoldo and Enrique Betancourt. They worked for Los Castillos in Taxco, Mexico in the 1940s, going on to create their own atelier, as well as designing for Casa Maya. It features a large Aztec warrior mask which continues around both sides, with open cut outs on the wrists.. This is a super example of vintage modern Mexican design and wearable art. The hallmark is “Betancourt” Hecho en Mexico, information from the Book of Mexican Hallmarks by Billie Hougart.
