Description: A rare vintage pin or pendant from our curated selection of pieces from Casa Maya. These highly collectible pieces were made in Mexico City in the 1950s, and included designs by the legendary Hubert Harmon, Annette Nancarrow and Betancourt.
The piece is made of hammered copper and adorned with skillfully executed brass pre-Columbian symbols and two tone green enamel, for which the atelier was known. It is hand wrought….brass has been carefully cut out and soldered onto a hammered copper base. The iconic Casa Maya hallmark stamp is found on the back of the piece. This piece is found in Sandy Hargrove’s book “Maya Mexico Jewelry; An Informational Guide”. The piece is in very good vintage condition with a nice patina – we do not polish any of our pieces prior to selling them.
